On Tuesday, September 4, 2013, Jacek Santorski, a well known and recognized business psychologist, made a guest of the meeting organized by the Executive MBA Alumni Association. Mr. Santorski shared his point of view on leadership which, he believes, is impossible to separate a role of a leader and a manager as they both interrelate depending on situation and circumstances. Effective leadership may be developed - from micro-corrections to macro-effects of one’s behavior. A versatile leader is able to give an example, as well as to invite and encourage to act. A natural leader is characterized by: courage, ability to act, vision and coherence of attitude and performance. In summarizing his lecture, Jacek Santorski quoted a maxim “You get appointed to be a CEO by the management board, while to be a Leader - you get appointed by hearts and minds of your people”.
